Anxious Mom at the Deer Lease- How to Use Thought Management Tool - Loving What Is

Marriage often requires some give and takes.
Well, it was my turn to give, and that meant making a trip to the deer lease.

The deer lease, for the anxious mom, is at the top of the must avoid list:

  • Driving late at night with tired, cranky kids
  • Fire with kids running around
  • Smoke in your face
  • Guns
  • Bugs

So here I was, sitting by the fire... the automatic negative thoughts were swarming.
This is a disaster. I shouldn't be here. The kids are going to fall in the fire.

Then I pulled out one of my thought management tools from the Love Your Brain formula, and all the negative thoughts stopped instantly.

And as I was sitting there watching the fire, I realized I was not loving what is.
I was in my head and not embracing and loving this moment.

My true reality was that I was snuggled closely with my adorable, sleeping 3-year-old, surrounded with good people.
